The Palmers Green Festival was created by local charity Pro-Cancer-Research-Fund early in 2009 to replace their annual health and awareness day. It now forms part of the general PCRF mission to encourage people of all ages to engage with their health.
The idea was to create a fun, free, community event for all ages that celebrates our rich diversity, with
To organise and run the event, a team of volunteers came together and formed the PGF committee. This committee set about inviting a number of musicians from the north London area, as well as local schools, sole traders and health practitioners. Local businesses also got involved, eager to lend their support to PCRF and make the Palmers Green Festival a fun and exciting event.
The first festival was held in Broomfield Park on Sunday 28th June 2009 and it attracted over two thousand people and was successful in raising health awareness.
The PGF team were overwhelmed by the positive response to the event, and delighted to receive floods of emails after the event from the people in attendance supporting the event and encouraging us to hold it again next year.
